Independent guidance, not upstream support

Troubleshoot EasyMiner without weakening security

Start with the exact symptom and stop when file identity, permissions, network behavior, or hardware safety is uncertain. The upstream project remains responsible for the EasyMiner binary.

Symptom → safer next step

Troubleshooting checklist

Do not use troubleshooting as a reason to bypass a warning you have not understood.

The download file or size is different

Cancel execution. Return to release facts, verify the final host, and re-check SourceForge. A legitimate upstream update also requires this page's hash and metadata to be updated.

Antivirus or SmartScreen blocks the installer

Keep protection enabled. Check the unsigned publisher status, calculate SHA-256, scan with current tools, and consult upstream support. A matching hash identifies the checked file but does not prove safety.

The application does not start on current Windows

The project has no current Windows compatibility matrix. Check Event Viewer and the app log without installing random DLLs or compatibility packs from third-party sites. Prefer a non-critical test system.

The pool will not connect

Confirm the current pool host, port, worker format, TLS requirements, supported algorithm, and service status directly with the pool. Defaults from a 2020 release may be obsolete.

Shares are rejected or no rewards appear

Verify the selected algorithm, wallet address, worker name, pool rules, minimum payout, and timestamps. Never paste a seed phrase or private key to fix a payout problem.

Temperature, noise, or power use is high

Stop the mining session. Restore conservative settings, inspect cooling, and follow the hardware manufacturer's temperature and power limits before trying again.

Removal

Cautious uninstall sequence

  1. Stop mining and close EasyMiner and related miner processes.
  2. Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps and look for EasyMiner.
  3. If an uninstall entry exists, use it and review each prompt.
  4. Restart, then inspect startup apps, scheduled tasks, services, and firewall rules for entries you approved.
  5. If no uninstall entry exists, ask upstream support before deleting the installation folder manually.

Scope limitation

Removal is not independently verified

This sequence follows standard Windows practice, but this site has not audited the 0.98 installer's exact changes or uninstaller behavior. Back up important data and do not delete unrelated system files.

Mining risk notice

Mining results and costs vary with asset price, network difficulty, pool rules and fees, hardware efficiency, electricity price, uptime, cooling, maintenance, software settings, taxes, and local rules.
