EasyMiner

No absolute safety claims

EasyMiner security starts with knowing the limits

The current SourceForge target is an unsigned 2020 installer, and this site has not completed a source-to-binary reproducibility audit.

File identity

Checks this site completed

  • Followed the unchanged SourceForge latest-download target
  • Observed EasyMiner_Setup.exe and product version 0.98
  • Measured 1,201,990 bytes
  • Checked Authenticode status: not digitally signed

Security limits

Checks this site did not complete

  • No reproducible build comparison between source and installer
  • No full audit of bundled miners, endpoints, persistence, or telemetry
  • No guarantee that all security scanners agree
  • No current Windows, driver, pool, or hardware compatibility certification
  • No upstream confirmation that easyminer.io is the project website

Download and device rules

  1. Use the visible SourceForge route and verify the final host.
  2. Do not disable antivirus or SmartScreen merely to proceed.
  3. Review every permission, startup, firewall, or system-change prompt.
  4. Run only on hardware you own and are authorized to use.

Wallet and account rules

  1. Use a public receiving address, not a seed phrase or private key.
  2. Do not enter exchange passwords, recovery codes, or banking details.
  3. Confirm the coin and address format before saving pool settings.
  4. Keep mining activity separate from wallets that hold significant funds.
  5. Stop immediately if the software requests unrelated credentials.

Why the age matters

Legacy software has a growing verification gap

SourceForge lists the project as last updated on May 14, 2020. Since then, Windows, drivers, pool protocols, certificate requirements, and security expectations have changed. Treat outdated defaults or connection failures as a compatibility issue to investigate, not a reason to weaken security.

Mining risk notice

Mining results and costs vary with asset price, network difficulty, pool rules and fees, hardware efficiency, electricity price, uptime, cooling, maintenance, software settings, taxes, and local rules.
